Madam Walker Legacy Theater

This historic theater was constructed in 1927, once hosting Madam CJ Walker’s hair production company. The Lilly Endowment awarded a $15 million grant in 2020, allowing for renovations. These finished in early 2021 and now facilitate programs that empower and uplift its local and regional community. As of 2021, the Madam Walker Legacy Center sees approximately $1.8 million in revenue annually.
